SheetsBoss — Privacy Policy

Our core commitment
All spreadsheet content you create or manage using SheetsBoss remains stored exclusively in your Google™ account — not on our servers. We do not extract, copy, store, or sell your Google Sheets™ data.
1. About SheetsBoss
SheetsBoss is a Google Workspace™ add-on developed and operated by DigiTool (“we”, “us”, “our”). It operates entirely within your Google Sheets™ environment as a sidebar add-on. You can contact us at hello@digitool.dev.

2. Google API Services — Data Access
SheetsBoss requests the following OAuth permissions from your Google account. We request only the minimum permissions required to deliver the features you use.

| script.scriptapp | Generate the secure web app URL used to redirect you to Stripe’s payment page when upgrading your plan. |
| userinfo.email | Read your Google account email address to identify you for subscription tracking and operation-count management. We store only your email address — no other profile information. |
| script.external_request | Send HTTPS requests to Stripe’s API to create a secure checkout session when you choose to upgrade. No spreadsheet data is included in these requests. |
SheetsBoss’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. What Data We Collect and Store
SheetsBoss collects and stores only the minimum data necessary to provide the service:
- Email address — stored within Google Apps Script properties to identify your account, enforce your subscription tier, and track your monthly operation count.
- Subscription status (free / monthly / lifetime) and expiry date — stored within Google Apps Script ScriptProperties, keyed by your email address.
- Monthly operation count — stored within Google Apps Script UserProperties to enforce the free tier limit and reset each calendar month.
This data is stored on Google’s infrastructure within the Apps Script environment — not on any external server operated by DigiTool. We do not operate a separate database holding your personal data.
We do not access, read, copy, or store your spreadsheet content, cell values, formulas, or any other Google Drive™ file content.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To deliver SheetsBoss features within Google Sheets™.
- To enforce free tier operation limits and reset them monthly.
- To identify your active subscription plan (free, monthly, or lifetime).
- To process payments and receive subscription confirmations via Stripe.
- To respond to support requests you send us by email.
We do not sell, rent, share, or transfer your data to any third party for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to providing SheetsBoss.
5. Third-Party Services
SheetsBoss uses the following third-party services:
- Google LLC — Google Sheets™, Apps Script, and OAuth authentication. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Stripe, Inc. — Payment processing for paid subscriptions. When you upgrade, you interact directly with Stripe’s hosted checkout. DigiTool receives only a payment confirmation and your email address from Stripe. Stripe’s privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.
6. Data Retention
Subscription and usage data is retained for as long as you have SheetsBoss installed and your account is active. If you uninstall SheetsBoss, your operation count is removed from UserProperties automatically. Subscription records in ScriptProperties are retained for up to 12 months after expiry or cancellation before being purged, or immediately upon request.
7. Revoking Access
You can revoke SheetsBoss’s access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account permissions page. Revoking access will immediately prevent SheetsBoss from accessing your account. Uninstalling the add-on from Google Workspace Marketplace will remove it from your Sheets™ environment.
8. Your Rights (GDPR & UK GDPR)
If you are based in the UK or EU, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your data.
- Restriction — request that we restrict processing of your data.
- Portability — request your data in a portable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@digitool.dev. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Security
All data storage operates within Google’s infrastructure, protected by Google’s enterprise-grade security. Communication between SheetsBoss and Stripe uses HTTPS. We do not store payment card details — all payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe.
10. Children’s Privacy
SheetsBoss is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL. Significant changes will be communicated by email where possible. Continued use of SheetsBoss after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
